In 1997, TeleMedik started its operation under the leadership of Dr. Joaquin Fernández-Quintero, M.D. The idea and purpose of developing a telephone triage center was stated along with a small group of professionals from diverse backgrounds and fields. From its very beginning, this group of entrepreneurs took advantage of the newest technologies and created a very flexible platform focusing in the needs and requirements of their clients. In 2008, TeleMedik decided to expand its operation to the IT field with the development of TeleMedik Innova Health Solutions. Leaders in the field of health information technology TeleMedik Innova offers a variety of solutions and applications that have been tailored to customers needs.

Accreditations:

TeleMedik is fully accredited by the American Accreditation Healthcare Commission / URAC. All of our policies and procedures are based on the “Triage and Health Information” standards of the AAHC/URAC. TeleMedik is the first Spanish triage call center to be accredited by URAC since 2001. The company was recertified in 2003, 2005 and 2007 credentialing process. Our Disease Management Program is the only disease management program certified in Puerto Rico by URAC. We are also the only bilingual triage call center certified by this agency in Puerto Rico. Recently our software Hipócrates was translated into Portuguese. In addition, TeleMedik runs the only fully certified Smoking Cessation Counseling and Quit Line Program in the Island. Our services are in strict compliance with major health assurance organizations such as the American Medical Association, the Department of Health and Health Accreditation Organizations within Puerto Rico and the United States. Our Triage program; Hipócrates has been certified by the University of Rio de Janeiro as an excellent quality tool for providing health services.
